This year’s “CMT Artists of the Year” special is going to be all female. As in, every honoree will be a woman.
We’re talking Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Carrie Underwood, Kelsea Ballerini plus Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman and Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott.
Maren Morris Tweeted, “Thank you for narrowing the gap in this industry. Proud to be honored among friends this night.” Kelsea Ballerini said, “Goodness, I love you CMT.” Hillary Scott wrote, “This puts a smile on my face like no other.”
And Little Big Town gave a shout-out. Quote, “Couldn’t be any prouder to stand alongside these inspiring women. Thank you CMT.” No word yet on the list of performers. The show will air October 17th. (CMT)
How can anyone ever top this gender reveal?
“I feel like the more we do of that and the more normal it is, why would I not want to take women out on the road with me? Why would anybody feel like ‘Oh, well I’m a girl, so I better have a guy’?”

A new survey polled 2,000 people, including parents and non-parents. And it found that having just one kid makes your morning routine take TWICE as long.
The average person with NO kids said they can get ready for work and be out the door in 22 minutes if they’re in a rush. But for people with one child it was 45 minutes.
And the more kids you have, the longer it takes. But it’s not a huge jump. For example, people with one kid said it takes 18 minutes to have breakfast, compared to 24 minutes for people with three kids.
Here are the top five everyday things that take longer when you have a kid:
Packing for a trip, 36 minutes longer
Cleaning the house, 35 minutes longer
Shopping for clothes, 33 minutes longer
Ironing, 30 minutes longer
Going to the grocery store, also about 30 minutes longer.
The survey found the average parent has a total of two hours of free time a day, compared to more than three hours for people without kids.
Parents were also asked what they’d do if they suddenly had a free day without their kids around. And the top answer was sleep.
Dustin Lynch had a career moment on Tuesday when he was asked to join the Grand Ole Opry. Trace Adkins did the inviting and the official induction will happen on September 18th.
Dustin talked about it later. Apparently, he’s an emotional guy. He said quote, “I’m a crier. And I held it back to just about two minutes of tears.”
It was also a full-circle thing, because Trace was one of the first country stars he met, and probably the first one to insult him. It was back in high school, Dustin was with his girlfriend, and he asked Trace to take a photo with them.
He said, quote, “[Trace] looked at me and he looked at her and said, ‘Darlin’, you’re dating this little shrimp?’ Fast forward however many years it’s been and he invites me to become a member of the Opry.”
He also made a confession. Quote, “The first time I came here I snuck in under someone else’s name. A buddy [got] put on the list and I used his name to get in backstage. I remember sweating bullets.”
A new survey asked a bunch of parents when their kids started REBELLING and doing their own thing. And on average, parents said it starts at age 13.
That’s when most parents said they started having trouble keeping tabs on their kids, and had to start GUESSING if they were up to anything dangerous or bad.
But it can start even earlier that that. Almost one in ten parents said their kids started doing their own thing by age 10.
60% of parents with kids between 13 and 18 said controlling them is a lot harder than it used to be.

Looks like we’re feeling more secure in our jobs because we’re actually willing to leave our desks unattended for a few days without worrying about some vulture swooping in, stealing our job, and leaving us out on the streets.
According to a new study, Americans used an average of 17.2 vacation days last year. That’s the most since 2010.
People in Colorado, Virginia, and Arizona took the most days off and people in Montana, Delaware, and Rhode Island took the fewest.
